Crossing the Golden Gate by bike

I guess that, when you cross the Golden Gate by bike, you burn almost one quarter of the calories you eat when you get to Sausalito, at the other side.

I really wanted to do this and we know we won't live here for much longer. Scott is starting to interview for jobs in San Diego (yeeeee) and Boston (buuuuu). Anyway, today was the day, we got on top of the bikes and went all the way to the other side. I'm completely out of shape, so I got tired in the uphills, but getting there is worth it all.

I'm not doing it again soon, though.

Making friends

I met this guy at fotolog and he has been living here in San Francisco for a long time now. When I told him about my research for the book, he offered to help and gave me very precious clues, of places I would never find by myself. So we met at a cafe, talked for a while and took a walk together before going separate ways. Thanks, Michale, you are very, very sweet!

Road trip series III

Somewhere south of Carmel, but still north of LA.

US 1 has such great views that it makes you want to keep going back and forward, back and forward, back and forward... It was a fun trip and I got to play with my new camera a lot.

Road trip series II

Lazy ray at the Monterey Aquarium.

(Really fun to put your head inside the bubble!)

Road trip series

Day one: San Francisco to Monterey.
Raining, all day long.
